Hard-pressed Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) claims it will cut fares by as much as 30 percent over the next few years, part of an effort to meet competition from the airline industry's new cut-rate carriers.
SAS has been reeling from losses at the same time that its relatively high fares virtually priced it out of the market.
