Crude oil prices are at their highest point since the build up to the Gulf War in 1990 after the US said reserves were falling as it prepared to attack Iraq.
Overnight crude oil for April delivery rose by around 2% to 38.08 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. That was its highest point since October 1990, when it touched $41.15.
