Competition for cruise passengers intensifies

This year 203 international cruise ships will stop in Helsinki on tours of the Baltic. Although the number is greater than last year, Helsinki harbour master Kari Wallin is not pleased.

Helsinki has dropped from the top three cruise destinations in the Baltic - a position it used to share with Copenhagen and St. Petersburg.

Tallinn and Stockholm get more visits from cruise ships than Helsinki does, and now the Latvian capital Riga has entered the picture ......
