Some of the 900 shipyard workers who as from Monday are on paid leave, waiting to start working for the newly-registered Industrial Projects and Services Limited (IPSL) or considering an offer to resign, protested against the selection process made by the management.
According to the agreement signed last week, some 1,700 workers will remain at the new company Malta Shipyards Limited (MSL) and work on ship repairing and ship building, while the remaining 900 assigned to IPSL will be offered voluntary early retirement and redundancy schemes. Those who decide to stay will do jobs not related to ships
