ILO Body Updates Minimum Wage for Seafarers

A Sub-Committee of the Joint Maritime Commission (JMC) of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) today agreed to extend the validity of the current ILO minimum monthly wage for seafarers of US$465 to 31 December 2004. That figure became applicable on 1 January 2003. It also agreed to increase this minimum wage to US$500 effective 1 January 2005 ......
