The Shandong Maritime Bureau, PRC, successfully conducted an air-sea cruise, code-named "Air Cruise-1", on China's Yellow and Bohai sea waters on December 2. This was the first stereoscopic cruise ever carried out by China's maritime department with planes and ships on the above-mentioned waters.
It is reported that the emphasis of this mission was placed on checking and inspecting the navigation situation on the sea in the traffic heavy areas, prohibited areas, and accident-prone areas of the above-said two water regions. Helicopters participating in the mission took off from Qingdao port, Shandong Province, cruising for six hours and covering 650 nautical miles through nine important ports and sea areas, including Haiyang, Shidao, Chengshantou and operation areas in the Yellow and Bohai seas, just naming a few
