The commercial, oil and marine ports are currently provided with special emergency plans according to the national plan for preparation and dealing with emergency marine pollution.

This plan was accredited by the Prime Minister.

The plan provides for forming a committee which includes inspectors from the Environment Ministry, the public directorate of ports affiliated to the Ministry Of Transportation to investigate and inspect incidents of pollution in order to find the cause of the incidents apprehend those responsible, impound the vessel for up to one year , or fine the company or the owners up to SP 10 million ......
