KOLKATA: Five back to back incidents in three months - including a shootout and a massive ammunition haul - yet the police still lull them-selves into believing there is no mafia on the Kolkata docks.

The police seem to have been beguiled by the lull in criminal activities in Kolkata port during the first half of the year. But the criminals are back, and so are their patronisers.

Last week goons forcibly prevented a company from taking possession of a land allotted by the Kolkata Port Trust ......
