Govt may export decommissioned ships

The government is considering exporting decommissioned destroyers to Southeast Asian countries to be used in measures against terrorism or piracy, in an exception to the three rules on arms exports, government officials said Tuesday.

If the government eventually decides to export such vessels, it will inform Singapore and Malaysia, two countries that have requested Japan to relax the three rules, in January ......
