The Port of Mombasa handled an additional one million metric tonnes of cargo last year compared to the previous year, it was announced yesterday.
Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) corporate services manager Gichiri Ndua said the port had recorded an all time high cargo volume of 12,920,000 metric tonnes in 2004 compared to 11,931,000 metric tonnes in 2003. This translates into a growth rate of 5.5 per cent
