THE Malaysian shipping industry, which saw unprecedented growth in revenue and profits last year, looks set to continue riding on the crest of the wave generated by China's seemingly insatiable demand for coal and steel to fuel its booming economy.
Major players in the industry, which has escaped unscathed from last week's tsunami disaster that swept South Asia, expect charter rates to go up further this year in view of the "phenomenal" demand for shipping services, particularly by China and Europe
