A MERGER of Britain's naval shipyards could take up to five years to complete, Mike Turner, the chief executive of BAE Systems, said yesterday.
Discussions between the shipbuilders BAE Systems, Babcock and VT Group and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) have taken place in order to develop a strategy for building warships that would end the "stop-start" cycle of warship building that leads to mass redundancies in shipyards
