Concessionaires who last year won bids at the nation's seaports are now free to take over operations from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) following the resolution of outstanding labour issues between the government and maritime workers yesterday.
Members of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) and Senior Staff Association of NPA had yesterday signed a severance package agreement with the Presidential Task Force on Port Reform headed by the Finance Minister, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, at Abuja.
Under the agreement, labour was given two options as far as payment of severance package is concerned
