Firm seeks to expand global network by securing its own terminals in Americas, Europe and Asia
High international oil prices took their toll on the local shipping industry. As a result, it is expected that their sales and profit in 2006 had decreased from the preceding year and the situation will remain not so bright in 2007.
Park Chung-won, president of Hanjin Shipping, which ranks No. 1 in the industry, said, "The year 2007 will be another difficult year for us due to high oil prices and a rise in logistics costs. But we will strive to secure sustainable growth potential."
