Green light to according to terminal the cruises of the port of Savona and to the widening of the Monfer terminal



The Harbour Authority of Savona has announced that two important are approved of participations in from Liguria port. The conference of the services met near the harbour agency has expressed positive opinion to the realization of according to terminal the cruises of the port of Savona, that it has had the green light by the interested local authorities. Moreover the conference of the services has substantially given the go-ahead free also to the widening of the park tanks of the Monfer terminal and it has been shut with the assent action to proceed of the local governments.

The new terminal cruises will be realized in the adjacent area to the crocieristico terminal Palacrociere, between the dock of Descent of the Sails and the third party I approach, inaugurated in November 2008. The Harbour Authority has remembered that the project has been born in order to during the last few years answer to the requirements tied to the fort increase of the traffic cruises recorded that in 2010 has reached quota 780,000 passengers and that for 2011 sees a forecast pairs to a million passengers with a total of 239 approaches. The new terminal – it has explained the harbour agency - will serve to manage the operations more easily than boarding and disembarkation of the passengers in occasion of double berthings, but above all in triple conditions of and quadruples it approaches.

According to terminal the cruises it will have the same architectonic characteristics to the current Palacrociere, that it is managed by the Costa Crociere group, and will be subdivided on three levels: to the ground floor the income entrance hall is previewed, the room baggages of 700 square metres and the customs safety and control services; to the mezzanine instead an area exclusively dedicated to technical services is planned, while to the first floor the operations of boarding and disembarkation will happen on a surface total pairs to 2.600 square metres. Inside business activities are not previewed.

The two terminals cruises will be connected from each other by a kind of long bridge twenty or so meters without pillars of support intermediate in order to allow an easy circulation of cars and coach and equipped of analogous procedures for the boarding and the disembarkation of the passengers for being able to operate also in autonomy.

The investment for the realization of the new Palacrociere is pairs to eight million euro and will be at the expense of the Costa Crociere company. The work of realization of the structure will have beginning within the summer and, second the forecasts, will be concluded over 12 months. The Harbour Authority has specified that in this Costa Crociere period already it is authorized to operate in extraordinary way near zone 12 where is arranged a temporary tensostruttura for the acceptance of the crocieristi.

The widening of the park tanks of the Monfer terminal previews the realization by Monfer Spa of five new tanks in the area comprised between the existing silos cerealicolo and the Terminal High Backdrops dedicated to the solid bulk with work that would have to be concluded to beginning 2012 in order to afford to the system of operating being in the course of the year. The investment, to total loaded with the cuneese society, is of two million euro.

Two new tanks will have diameter pairs to 14 meters and height 18 meters with a unitary ability pairs to 2.700 cubic metres. Three new tanks, slightly more little ones, will have diameter pairs to 12 meters and height 18 meters with a unitary ability pairs to 2.000 cubic metres. The new system will be dedicated to oil storage vegetables and Hunger (oil used for the bio-diesel engine production) and in terms of tons it will have an ability pairs to about 10.360 tons.

The harbour agency has remembered that, with world-wide the economic crisis of 2009, Monfer, that has always operated in the market of the cereals, has decided to diversify the dealt types of goods and has realized a system dedicated to the liquid bulk of 13.000 cubic metres with an investment pairs to 2,3 million euros. Given to the good course of the new traffics (33,000 tons of liquid bulk in 2009 and 60,000 tons in the 2010) company have decided to invest in this direction and almost to double the existing system of the port of Savona.
