OLT - Offshore LNG Toscana Group has commissioned the British company providing the software Amor "hydrocarbon management solution," Hydrocarbon +, which will be used to manage the offshore floating LNG terminal that OLT is developing off the coast of Tocane.
According to forecasts OLT, which is owned by the groups and IREN E. ONL from Golar LNG and OLT Energy Toscana, will begin operations in October 2012. A ship converted, the Golar Frost( of 4 March 2008), will become a floating storage and regasification (FSRU). After gasification, the gas will be transported to land by a pipeline connected to the network of the national gas pipelines, on the Tuscan coast.
The storage capacity available on-ship terminal is limited and the demand for gas will vary, so maintaining a constant program of delivery of the cargo of LNG and the optimization of inventory management is the key to getting the best possible use plant. Hence the five-year agreement with Love Group, which meets the need to plan and optimize shipments of liquefied natural gas, to get the most use of the system by controlling the loading and scheduling, inventory management, to provide an uninterrupted commercial service to shippers and effective communication between the terminal, the user terminal and the operator of the transmission system.
