The company announced that its new line of credit is intended to finance the final payments due to the South Korean shipyard Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. for the two MR product tankers tankers / chemicals of 52,000 deadweight tons, hull No 2307 and No. 2308, that have already been ordered and is currently under construction at the shipyard, with delivery scheduled in March and April 2012 respectively. The two tankers were originally ordered by Glenda International Shipping, the 50:50 joint venture between the d'Amico International Shipping Group and Glencore, which subsequently transferred the order d'Amico Tankers Limited (Ireland).
d'Amico International Shipping has stated that the funding can cover a large part of the total number of installments remaining to be paid to the shipyard for two South Korean ships under construction, which totals $ 56 million, and that the duration of the loan is of seven years from the delivery of new ships and a very competitive interest rate. The credit facility is guaranteed by the mortgage of First Instance entered on each ship.
