Today, the Prefect of Savona, Claudio Sammartino, President of the Port Authority of Savona, Rino Canavese, and the CEO of Maersk Italy, Carlo Merli, signed a memorandum of law for the construction of the platform of the port Mearsk Vado Ligure, which was prepared by the Prefecture. The covenant, which is one of the first in Italy for large marine works, joined the mayors of the district Savona, social forces, organizations of entrepreneurs.
"It is - said the prefect Sammartino - a protocol that contains highly effective innovative elements to counter the risk of infiltration into the Mafia."The instruments include, in addition to the intensification of preventive checks and controls, including the establishment of a monitoring group, established at the Prefecture, which will manage the contracts for works and supplies worth over 20 thousand euros, with the power to propose suspension or revocation if indications of irregularities, but that also will monitor the use of labor.
"Start with clear rules - noted the chairman of the Canavese port - is the best encouragement for the work. The document is not only an act of prevention against organized crime, but a way to focus the attention of the whole industry at work, contracts, transparency.
