It continues the fort increment of the traffic of the container in the port of the Pireo



The Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) has announced that in the first five months of the 2012 container terminal of the port of the Pireo managed from the harbour agency container has enlivened a traffic 293.874 pairs to teu, with a progression of 54.9% regarding 189.706 teu enlivened in the period January-May last year.

On October 1°, 2009, in fact, the management of Pier II (and the future Pier III) of the container is begun terminal of the Greek port by the Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT), society of Chinese group COSCO Pacific, within a contract of concession of the total duration 35-year-old. The Pier of the terminal instead has remained in management to the Harbour Authority.

In the first five months of the 2012 Piraeus Container Terminal of group COSCO it has enlivened a containerized trade pairs to 874.600 teu, with a progression of 130.8% regarding 378.900 teu in the correspondent period last year. Altogether in the period January-May of this year the Greek port has enlivened a traffic of the container pairs to 1.168.000 teu, with an increment of 105.5% on the same period of 2011.
