To days the ban of contest for the realization and management of the intermodal terminal of the port of Gioia Tauro



Today in the center of the Harbour Authority of Gioia Tauro the president of the Giovanni Grimaldi agency and the general manager of the Consortium for the Industrial Development of the Province of Reggio Calabria (Asireg), Pasquale Borgese, the "Convention in the within of the Pon has undersigned Nets and Mobility 2007-2013" that it heads to define the problematic ones of the management of the area where the new intermodal terminal of the calabrian port will rise.

"On September 28, 2010, with the signature of the Agreement of program picture "Polo Logistico Intermodale di Gioia Tauro", for which the Calabria Region has contributed with detail and effective interest, - has remembered the Harbour Authority - the Asireg has reconfirmed the availability to uses it of the area of own competence for the realization of the railway gateway. For its part, the Harbour Authority has elaborated the feasibility study and has defined the contest ban, that it will be published to days, in order to characterize the concessionaire who will have to realize and to manage the infrastructure. It is reached today, therefore, with the subscription of the Convention that disciplines the institutional and financial relationships between the two agencies".

By the agreement the assignment is entrusted to the Harbour Authority of Gioia Tauro "to proceed to stipulates of an only action of the concession of thirty-year duration also for the areas falling back in the within of the Asireg and to emanate all the necessary actions for the start of the contest ban".

Grimaldi has defined the understanding "of fundamental importance for the realization of a so specific work for the port of Gioia Tauro. I thank the Region - it has added - for the collaboration that it has given in the formalizzazione of this convention. I hope, therefore, than with the contract of the infrastructure, the ban will be, shortly, published, an always greater collaboration between the Harbour Authority and the Asireg Consortium can be established".

Borgese has spoken about "historical moment that sees the signature of an important agreement for the development of all the area and for the increase of the interporto. It is an activity - it has continued - that we have started over recent years and that today is realized with the possibility to use new financings for the realization of a strategic work inserted in the Agreement of program picture". Referring to the relationships between the two agencies, Borgese has evidenced that "in reality, not never they have been discords. One has been, only - it has specified - of an initial problem for the title of some areas that, but, it has not never prevented, in fact, the collaboration. Now we hope to resolve this initial problem for which we collaborate and will continue to collaborate in the interest of the territory".
