The protocol, that we publish below, is introduced on initiative of the president of the harbour agency, Sergio Prete, according to art. the 8, codicil 6 of Legge n. 84/1994, and preview the adhesion of the Harbour office, the Regional Agency Environmental protection (ARPA), the Agency of Customs, the Phytosanitary Office (Region Apulia), the Office of Marine Health, the Office Veterinary of Port/Place of Frontier Inspection, the Firemen, the Consortium for Industrial Development (ASI) and the Harbour Authority of Taranto.

With the signature of the protocol to the aim to exceed the problematic municipalities, to share the objectives of development of the port of Taranto and the relative competitive adaptation of the procedures and the offered services. "Such action - it has emphasized the Harbour Authority - constitutes the start of a vituous distance face to characterize collegialmente a distance in order to increase the current levels of quality of the services harbour publics".

The Port of Taranto is recognized as Core Port from the inserted European Union and as terminal of the European Corridor n. 5 Helsinki - the Valetta.

"Terminal Logistic" of the customs services.
With D.P.C.M on February 17, 2012, in consideration of the national and international strategic importance of the Port of Taranto, the President of the Harbour Authority is named Commissioner Straordinario, whom provided with substitutive powers, for the realization in quick times of a series of infrastructural participations, also in the field of the logistics and the intermodalità, indispensable for the development of the port of call.
Besides the participations of infrastructural adaptation, in order to return the Port of competitive Taranto, he is indispensable to upgrade and to develop to the activities and the services offered private publics and, adapting to the changed them requirements.
The activity offered from operating Public Administration in the port of Taranto is of particular importance for the protection of the common good, the publics interests, safety and the public health.
Such activity, in its complex, assumes detail strategic importance for the development of the Port of Taranto in a picture of competition and competition with other national and international ports of call.
For such motivations, it is considered necessary to jointly reach to a coordination of the activities carried out in the Port of Taranto from the PP.AA to the aim to share the objectives of development and the adaptation of the procedures and the services offered to the operators, eventually exceeding problematic municipalities, also of immaterial character.
Such coordination also becomes necessary, in the respect of the norms of reference of each of the Parts, in order to return the administrative action and the services offered in harbour within ulteriorly effective and efficient, all in the perspective to realize a "system" that is able, in its complex, to be confronted, with the most advanced national and international harbour truths.
The Harbour Authority, so as already made in other ports, has the intention of equip the Port of Taranto, in the short possible term, of a Port Community System.
Art. the 8, codicil 3, lett. f) of the law 28 January 1994 n. 84 and next modifications and integrations, assign to the President of the Harbour Authority the coordination of the activities carried out in the port from Public Administration;

In the respect of the legality principle, of the institutional roles and the specific competences, the Parts are engaged to collaborate closely between they and to carry out own activity in tight coordination for the overcoming of problematic municipalities, also of immaterial character, for sharing of the objectives of development of the Port of Taranto and the competitive adaptation of the procedures and the services offered to the operators.

Al fine to facilitate such activity is instituted permanent a technical table, composed from a delegate for every Part coordinated underwriter and from the Harbour Authority, in order to face and to propose solutions to the problematic ones of common interest, to the aim to promote the development of the traffics of the Port of Taranto.
The technical table, will meet of norm every once two months near the center of the Harbour Authority.
