Agreement of collaboration between the company of Spanish navigation Balearia and the Italian Tirrenia CIN



The Balearia Spanish and the Italian Tirrenia CIN Company of Italian Navigation have undersigned an agreement strategic with the objective to widen own market through a mutual representation in the respective Countries. The understanding, that it is signed to Barcelona from the president of Balearia, Adolfo Utor, and of the managing director of Tirrenia CIN, Ettore Morace, will be operating beginning from the next month and will afford to both the companies of being anticipates is on the Spanish market that on that Italian.

The collaboration will have as first effect the widening of the commercial net of the two societies through the which crossed sale of the services. Moreover the alliance will afford to Tirrenia CIN to enter in the Spanish market through Balearia, that it will become its society representative, while Balearia will enter in the Italian market thanks to Tirrenia CIN and has already in forecast to inaugurate a new connection to high speed between Sicily and Malta.

Balearia and Tirrenia CIN have evidenced that another primary aspect of this agreement is the promotion of which will enjoy the Sardinia in the Iberian market in the course all the year, a promotion as tourist goal independently from the carrier with which to reach it.

Balearia is founded in 1998 and connects the Balearic Islands regularly and the Strait of Gibraltar and currently is present also to Bahamas. Altogether Balearia work on 21 lines with 17 ships between ferry and fast ferry. Tirrenia is founded in 1936 and from 2012 it has been acquired from Italian Company of Navigation Spa becoming Tirrenia CIN. Currently work in the field of the marine cabotage as to title of the public service of connection with the greater islands, Isole Tremiti and as carrier for the traffic goods. The company employs 16 ships between cruise currently ferry and ro ? ro pax. The served lines connect in Tyrrhenian the Sardinia (from and for the ports of Porto Torres, Olbia, Arbatax and Cagliari) with Genoa, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Naples, Palermo and Trapani to which Naples and Palermo join connected between they; on the Adriatic besides the Ravenna-Catania line, the islands Trembles are served by a fast ferry that the colleague with Termoli.
