Trasportounito calls in the institutions in order to stop the increase of the ferries for the Sardinia



Trasportounito has sped up the immediate participation of the institutions in order to tackle to the problem of the increase of the rates of the marine transports from and for the Sardinia, increases that - the general secretary of the association of the road haulage has denounced, Maurizio Longo - are "unacceptable, insufferable, indefensible". Longo has explained that these new increases of rate, medium of 10% that is decided by the shipowners that they manage services of ferries, does not hit only the road haulage that are not in condition for making to recognize increases from its outsourcers, but especially is destined to destroy the economy, or what it remains, of the economy of the Sardinia.

The incidence of these increases on the final cost of the transport and therefore in percentage on the value of the goods - it has clarified Longo - is exorbitant and ditches in definitive way that territorial continuity that would have to be guaranteed to the Sardinia.

Trasportounito has carried for example the Tirrenia-Cin company that - it has explained the association - "after to have increased the hires to January of 8%, annulling the reductions in price, it has now communicated that, in adaptation to the convention undersigned with the ministerial administration, provvederà to an ulterior in June next next increase of about 10%". And - it has emphasized Trasportounito - it does not end here. The intention of same the Tirrenia, "as law in the letter sent to all the customers, is to ulteriorly proceed to adapt to the rates goods to the conditions agreed in convention of exercise with the ministerial offices and therefore with the State". The association has specified that however the problem is not only of the Tirrenia company, "as - it has specified Trasportounito - also Moby has raised the rates of about 4.5% for route from February 2013".

Asking the immediate participation for the institutions, Trasportounito has announced that, "in absence of urgent measures, a single percorribile road will exist: that of the block total of the ports in Sardinia without to exclude the possibility to put into effect analogous blocks also and in the ports of call in continent".

The Coordinator Trasportounito Sardinia, Piero Muscas, has already demanded the immediate participation of the president of the Sardinia Region and the regional city council member to the Transports in particular towards the Ministry of Transportation, to the aim see again the agreements in convention.
