Today a
delegation of Japanese WAVE (Waterfront Vitalization and Environment Research Foundation) composed of a team of students to the search of best practice on the recovery of the waterfront and the environmental compatibility is accommodated by the Harbour Authority of Venice within an organized initiative with JCCA (Japan Civil Engineering Consultants Association) and direct from Hideo Nakamura, president of the University of Tokyo in collaboration with the Japanese ministry of Infrastructures and the Transports.
"Japan - the president of the WAVE, Takeshi Kawashima has explained - sees the port of Venice like a native gateway for the coming traffics goods from Asia and the first port of reference for the cruises in the Mediterranean. For these its peculiarity and the ability to conciliate the city development with the embrittlement of the lagoon we have decided to make you visit. Our objective is to study to deepen all thematic the environmental ones and of harbour development that you have applied and, we hope, of being able to natch your "secret"". In the course of the encounter the technicians of the Harbour Authority have introduced to the students the development plans of the Venetian port of call under the logistic point of view (the weft of infrastructures European and the new layout that the ports will have to assume in the future), town-planning (the management of the change to level territorial and city in order to construct to a true integration between port and city) and environmental (the management of the externalities and the solutions identified for Venice) .
