Signed the agreement for I climb over it railway that will improve the connections between the port of Livorno and the Interporto Vespucci



Yesterday to Florence the agreement for the potenziamento of the connections between the port of Livorno has been undersigned (Dock Tuscany) and the Interporto Toscano Amerigo Vespucci, that it previews the realization of I climb over of the railway line Tirrenica, a work that will afford to exceed the difficulties of connection between port, interporto and railway node of Pisa improving accessibility and the functionality of two infrastructures. The understanding is signed by the president of the Region Tuscany, Enrico Rossi, and from the representatives of the Province of Livorno, of the Municipalities of Livorno and Collesalvetti, of the Harbour Authority of Livorno and the Interporto Vespucci.

With the agreement the regional agency is moreover engaged to allocate a regional contribution of 250.000 euros in order to manage the contest for the confidence of the preliminary and definitive planning. The lines guide for the planning and the total order of the railway system port-interporto (in connection with the lines Pisa-Collesalvetti-Go and the Florence-Pisa-Livorno) will be, instead, managed from the Harbour Authority of Livorno.

The connection between the port and the interporto will be put into effect through a railway draft of exchange directed between two infrastructures. A short connection will be realized, along about 1.200 meters, than iron-tramviario will be connected to the existing railway connections thanks to the recovery of a bridge out of use that already climbs over the railway line Tirrenica. The old one I climb over railway will be strengthened and improved with an investment of 14 million which the Region will contribute for 50%.

Draft - it has emphasized the president of the Region, Enrico Rossi - of "an operating agreement that transforms a part of interporto Amerigo Vespucci in an immense one retroporto that it does not have equal in all the Tyrrhenian one of the north. And this means to widen the availabilities and potentiality of the port of Livorno and its harbour takeovers, assuring a carried out primary role to it and marking a large one".

Rossi has assured that "the times will be fast": "the contest - it has specified - will be carried out the next year and within the 2014 the work for an important and shared objective will leave, in which all we must make our part in order to accelerate of the attainment, exceeding bureaucratic fetters and local diatribes". "I am convinced - it has added - that the port of Livorno will be able "to smoke" all the other ports of the Tyrrhenian one of the north. The conditions because this happens are that it is excavatum and that has a greater competitiveness also on the costs, so as to avoid the long pauses of the ships in oadstead, beautiful to see itself from Calafuria but little convenient. The ships must enter and exit to continuous rhythm. And with the availability of retroporto the all the operations will be facilitated".

"The vocation of the port of Livorno - it has concluded the president of the Tuscany Region - is various from that of Piombino. But a serious Region must support and to invest on both, is on Livorno that can compete with all the important ports of the Mediterranean, is on Piombino with its industrial vocation and its graft with steel.
