RTC communicates the cessation of the railway service Pò Monk-Arena victim of the economic crisis



The Italian Rail Traction Company (RTC) has announced that the next year will not come more carried out the railway service between Monk, in Germany, and Italy, to Arena Po, in province of Pavia, where has center a center of distribution of the motor vehicles of the automotive group Volkswagen, than the company she has activated at the beginning of 2007 in collaboration with the German partner Lokomotion. The service in fact was dedicated to the transport of coming motors vehicle of the German group from at the market Italian Germany and destined, transport that joined to those already existing on Verona Quadrante Europa.

RTC has specified that initially the railway service circulated from Germany through Switzerland and reached in Italy along the line of the Gottardo, while successively the customer had but favorite to reinstradare the traffic via Brenner, where - it has evidenced the Italian company - during the last few years RTC and Lokomotion has realized the service with succeeded full load. The train circulated initially from the five to the six days to week, based on the volumes of automobiles to distribute, and previewed the return of the empty cars towards Germany.

Rail Traction Company has explained that the cessation of the consolidated service, after almost seven years of activity, is effect of the crisis in Italy that has hit also the automotive field. During the last few years, in fact, by initials 5-6 couples weeklies magazine the traffic gradually is diminished to 2-3 round trip to week, and for this reason the traffic has become unproductive. Since an ulterior decrease is previewed - it has specified RTC - was not more possible to maintain the relation active, therefore it has been notice to leave with new timetable 2014. RTC has specified that customer DB, for being able to maintain to assets the relation, however has decided to bind together the produced one with other existing projects.

RTC has emphasized that in order to compensate the decrease of the activity, determined from the reduction of the regular trains caused from the crisis, it has succeeded to conquer with great commercial, administrative and operating efforts new traffics, above all thanks to the increase of the seasonal grain trains, trains ad for Maersk, Bmw and for the traditional customers of the company, let alone a remarkable increase of regular traffics with final destination towards Turkey.
