In the 2013 port of Marseilles it has established new records in the container and the cruises



Regarding the preliminary esteem, that they indicated in 80,87 million tons the traffic of the goods enlivened by the port of Marseilles in the entire 2013, the Harbour Authority of the French port of call has communicated today that the data - still temporary - turns out to be more rather than 80,04 million tons, with a bending of -7% regarding the 85,63 million one tons enlivened in 2012.

Regarding the precedence it estimates of 17,78 million tons, the total volume of the goods several enlivened in 2013 turns out to be pairs to 17,33 million tons (+1%). In the field of the container pairs to 1.097.740 teu (+3% are established new records with a total of 10,77 million tons of goods (+3%) and with a handling of container). Moreover tons of rotabili (- 6% are enlivened 3,94 million) and 2,62 million conventional tons of goods (+1%).

In the field of the liquid bulk the total has been of 49,55 million tons (- 12%), of which 46,13 million tons of hydrocarbons (- 12%) and 3,42 million tons of bulk chemistries and foods (- 3%). The bulk sand banks is piled to 13,17 million tons (+7%), of which 9,18 million tons of bulk irons worker (+18%), 960 thousand tons of agricultural and food- bulk (- 8%) and 3,03 million tons of other bulk sand banks (- 12%).

Last year the traffic of the passengers has been of 2,62 million unit (+7%). The section of the cruises, with a total of 1,17 million crocieristi (+31%), has established the own new record. The passengers of the ferries have been 1,45 million (- 6%).

The French harbour agency has found as in the 2013 traffics of container, of which liquified natural gas (than it has been attested 5,67 million to tons, +4%), of producing iron and steel and the crocieristico traffic is emerging as the new segments of development of the port of Marseilles Fos, segments that have recorded increases comprised between the +6 and +31% and that however - has found the agency - have not been able to balance the meaningful decrease in the field of hydrocarbons hit - has emphasized Grand the Port Maritime de Marseille (GPMM) - from a real "caused oil shock" from the restructure of the field of refining in Europe, determining decrease as - it has remembered the agency - this segment constitutes beyond the half of the traffic goods enlivened total from the port of Marseilles Fos.
