First trimester in chiaroscuro for the German and Italian harbour terminals of the groups Eurokai, Eurogate and Contship Italy



In the first three months of the 2015 harbour terminal that is under responsibility of the German group Eurokai, than work through the direct participation of 50% in the Eurogate German (the other 50% is of German BLG Logistics) and a direct and indirect participation of 83.3% in the Italian Contship Italy, has enlivened a traffic of the container pairs to 3,66 million teu, with a progression of +2.6% regarding 3,57 million teu in the first trimester last year.

The single managed Italian terminals from Contship Italy have enlivened a traffic of 1,23 million teu, down of the -1,1% regarding the first trimester of 2014. The decrease is determined mainly by the reduction of the -9,4% of the traffic enlivened from the Medcenter Container Terminal (MCT) of the port of Gioia Tauro, that it has totaled 681 thousand teu. In light bending also the traffic to the Cagliari International Container Terminal (CICT) of the port of Cagliari that has enlivened 157 thousand teu (- 1.7%).

In strong increase, instead, the traffic to La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) of the port of La Spezia that has enlivened 284 thousand teu (+19.7%). To such purpose the Harbour Authority of La Spezia has announced that in the course of the first quadrimestre of 2015 terminal LSCT it has enlivened beyond 390 thousand teu, with an increment of +20% regarding the same period of 2014, and that in the single month of April 2015 the terminal has enlivened beyond 106 thousand teu, pairs to an increment of +20.5% on April 2014. The president of the harbour agency breaks, Lorenzo Forcieri, has emphasized that these data "confirm vitality and the potentialities of our port that - it has found - also in a difficult situation for the economic crisis, the bureaucratic difficulties etc, have always held and now, with the first provisions of the Renzi government for the economic resumption and for the simplification, as the preclearing, it is literally exploded. These data - it has added Forcieri - indicate also that the road in order to improve the existing norm from separated designs to small table, but facing the real ones must of the goods and the market, for which the port of it has always represented an excellence".

Contship Italy, moreover, has recorded a decided increase of the containerized trade enlivened from the Salerno terminal Container Terminal (SCT) of the port of Salerno, that it has totaled 62 thousand teu (+14.0% on first trimester 2014), and from the Terminal Container Ravenna (TCR) of the port of Ravenna, that has enlivened 45 thousand teu (+13.1%).

In the German terminals operated from joint venture Eurogate 50:50 a traffic of 2,02 million is enlivened teu, with a progression of +3.4% regarding 1,95 million teu in the first three months of 2014. In the German port of Bremerhaven, where Eurogate manages three terminals, the traffic is piled to 1,37 million teu (- 1.8%). In the port of Amburgo the Eurogate terminal Container Hamburg Terminal has enlivened 589 thousand teu (+9.7%). In the port of Wilhelmshaven the Eurogate terminal Container Wilhelmshaven Terminal has enlivened 56 thousand teu (+241.5%).

The terminal Eurogate Tanger of the Moroccan port of Tanger Med is under responsibility of the Eurokai group also, than in the first trimester of this year it has enlivened 343 thousand teu (+9.2%), the Liscont terminal of the portuguese port of Lisbon, that it has enlivened 51 thousand teu (+41.6%), and terminal ULCT of the Russian port of Ust-Luga, that has recorded a traffic pairs to 20 thousand teu (- 19.3%).
