the mayor of Trieste expresses confidence in the development of the city port



The mayor of Trieste has expressed a positive judgment on the management of the city port and depends on its perspectives of increase, development of which would benefit the city before in order. Taking part yesterday to the economic encounter organized from the municipal administration and dedicated to thematic regarding the port, Roberto Cosolini has emphasized that "there is a general appreciation for the job carried out in these months from the commissioner of the Harbour Authority and from the general secretary. The problems of the port - it has found the mayor - are the problems of the city, but it had to begin to resolve them from the port".

Confirming that the development of the port is one of the priorities shared for the increase of Trieste and its territory, Cosolini has evidenced that in the process of reform of the legislation in harbour matter currently in course it comes finally recognized the international role of the port of Trieste, having favored its integration to the harbour system of the Region.

In its participation the commissioner of the Harbour Authority of Trieste, Zeno D' Augustin, has anticipated that Sunday 20 september a "open day" that it will interest all the port, from pier V until the industrial channel will be organized. Other initiatives of opening to the city will be previewed in occasion of the "Barcolana", previewing the transfer of the parkings from pier IV at the beginning of the Old Port, with a series of appointments that will animate the warehouse the 26 and near zones and with a train that the Old Port until pier IV will connect.

About the initiatives for the development of the harbour activities and the competitiveness of the giuliano port of call, Of Augustin it has remembered as already a much from the railway point of view (yard of 2,5 million euros of maintenances has been made) and has rimarcato above all the importance of the signature of the Way Vas integrated that the definitive approval of the Portuale Town development plan will allow shortly. Of Augustin it has faced also the aspects participated legacies to the future of harbour (the Trieste Passenger terminal, Trieste Porto Servizi, Adriafer), the topic of the transfer of the Frank Point of the Old Port in other areas (Interporto Fernetti, Prosecco, Ezit zone). "We have faced all these topics and these problematic ones - it has explained - always from the technical point of view, with the objective to create development, occupation and traffics, in order to favor the increase of the triestine territory".
