In the 2014 air traffic in the Italian airports it has recorded increments of +4.7% of the passengers and +6.2% of goods and mail



After two years of the reduction, in the 2014 air traffic from and towards the Italian ports of call it has marked a meaningful resumption regarding the year precedence. It has announced today the Istat having specified that the passengers are increased of +4.7%, the goods and the mail of +6.2% and the movements of aircrafts of +1.2%.

In particular, the passengers transported on line flights are increased altogether of +5.2%, with an increment more content for flights national (+2.6%) regarding that recorded for flights international (+6.9%). The passengers on the charter flights are diminished of the -6,6%, with an increase in the national flights (+35.9%) and a decrease in those international (- 9.1%).

The airports that have recorded the greater increases of passengers regarding the year precedence are Catania (+14.4%, +916 thousand fleeting), Florence (+13.6%, +268 thousand) and Lamezia Terme (+10.5%, +229 thousand); those with the greater decrease are Trapani (- 14.9%, -280 thousand), Rimini (- 15.7%, -87 thousand) and Cuneo (- 18.7%, -53 thousand).

The Istat has marked that is continued to diminish uses it of the national carriers by the passengers arrived and left in the Italian airports: the relative quota is come down between 2009 and 2014 from 44.1% to 30.8%. Moreover 48.5% of the passengers have used flights low-cost (46.4% in 2013), quota that comes down to 15% if Italian airlines (17% in 2013 are considered only).

As in 2013, last year Italy has placed to the fifth place for quota passengers transported on the total EU (9.2%), after United Kingdom (16.7%), Germany (14.2%), Spain (12.5%) and France (10.8%).

In the 2014 traffic of goods it has turned out concentrated in the two great airport systems of Milan Malpensa (that it covers 51.5% of the traffic total of goods) and Roma Fiumicino (15.7%); to the third party place the airport of Bergamo (13.4% has been placed); altogether in the three airports it is enlivened a quota goods pairs to 80.6% of the traffic total. Regarding 2013, the quota the traffic of goods and mail are increased to Milan Malpensa of 1,4 points passing from 50.1% to 51,5%; that relative one to Roma Fiumicino is come down of 0,8 points (from 16.5% to 15,7%); for Bergamo the quota is come down of 0,1 point (from 13.5% to 13,4%). At last movements of goods for geographic area have recorded increments with Center-America (+64.5%), Africa (+39.2%), North America (+10.9%) and with the Countries EU (+2.2%); they have turned out, instead, decreasing those with South America (- 8.6%).
