the Harbour Authority of Salerno has introduced the new Town development plan of of the Campania port of call

The harbour authority has specified that the purposes and the main objectives of the new Portuale Town development plan are to put into effect a rationalization of the harbour watery mirror and the operating areas, to the aims of the mooring of the naval units and of storage and cargo handling and to increase, also in the within of the limits physicists of the harbour watery mirror, the ability to mooring of the marine port of call. To such fine the doubling of the Manfredi Pier, the widening and the extension of the Pier is previewed West, the widening of the Pier Trapeze and the widening of the 3 Pier January.

Moreover the PRP previews the rationalization and amalgamation of the moorings of the naval units of the technical-nautical services (in head of the future configuration of the Pier of West is previewed a dock of service to assign to the naval units in use to the technical-nautical services) and the improvement of the conditions of safety of navigation in harbour within. It is previewed also the completion and improvement of the integration process port-city. The document of programming for the Old Dock directly excludes the riconducibili activities to the mooring of naval units and/or handling of goods, confirming meanwhile the development of those activities that have always had center in that site (peach, sport activity, diporto and shipbuilding small). Meanwhile the Manfredi Pier (New Polo Crocieristico), already in the current configuration, but still more in the future, acts as hinge between the port and the city. For the withins of the so-called Old Dock and the Polo Crocieristico area, where with the lengthening of about 700 meters of the Manfredi Pier they will be able to moor until five ships with a forecast of beyond ten thousand tourists to the day, the plan has confirmed the resource to the institute of the Co-planning between Harbour and Common Authority of Salerno.
