To Venice a series of telephones exchange is installed in order to improve the access to the port



In recent days along the channel Malamocco Marghera the installation of five telephones exchange constituted from visibility sensors has been complete, of which a comprehensive one of meterological station, with the scope to return the access to the port of Venice easyr and sure. Draft of the first action of a plan studied and which got ahead from the Harbour Authority of Venice, in collaboration with the harbour operators and the Harbour office, with the objective to improve the conditions of safety of navigation in case of poor visibility and to return the information available to all the fleet and the operators.

The harbour agency has explained that it is a carried out job in order to limit lessened the closings of the port of Venice in consideration than happened in 2015 when intense fogs had involved the closing of the port of Venice for about 20 days.

The installed sensors will afford to measure with precision of the visibility degree (intensity fog and long presence of benches all the distance) while the weather station supplies also given relative to direction and speed of the wind, temperature of the air, relative humidity and pressure of the air.

Thanks to the new one it arranges the authorized users can consult the data in real time on a dedicated application that she allows to communicate the information through international sign AIS in equipment to all the fleets. The harbour authority has emphasized that the innovation, that consists just in the "web", is destined to teach also in the other Italian ports that must be confronted with the restrictions tied to conditions adverse meteomarine.

The entire project, for an investment about 200 thousand euro, is realized in close collaboration with the General Command of the Harbour offices and the Harbour-office of Venice, with which a given protocol of interchange is implemented - compatible with all the national and international standards of navigation - that will allow with the ships (and the companies), the operators and the responsibles of safety of always knowing and in real time the conditions meteomarine of the port of Venice managing the income in safety. A job that will carry, after the necessary phase of experimentation, also to estimate the possible modifications to the decrees of access to the port in case of fog in order to guarantee efficiency to the Venetian port of call more and more.
