In the 2016 Moroccan ports they have enlivened altogether 121,1 million tons of goods, with an increment of +8.6% regarding 111,5 million tons in the year precedence. In own relationship on the carried out activity last year from the national ports of call, the Agence Nationale of the Ports (ANP) has specified that the increase recorded in 2016 is determined by the positive course of the national traffic (import-export) that has marked a decided rise of +9.7% with a traffic that has reached 90,3 million tons regarding 82,3 million tons in 2015. In particular, the imports, with 56,4 million tons, have totaled an increment of +12.6%, while the exports, with 29,3 million tons, have shown a progression of +3.5%.

The governmental agency that administers the Moroccan ports has specified that in 2016, in terms of value, the exports have been pairs to 222,6 billion dirham (20,3 billion euros), with an increment of +2.1% on the year precedence, while the increase of the value of the imports, pairs to 407 billion dirham, has turned out more elevated (+9.3%).

The ANP has specified that the rise of the exports has been effect mainly of the increase of the export of the fields of automotive (+11.5%), aerospace (+14.6%) and electronics (+6.7%) let alone of the fields of agricultural and food- (+5.2%) and produced textile and leather (+6.7%), while the increase of the imports is supported by the increase of acquisitions of capital goods (+27.5%), of producing semifinished (+5.0%), consumer goods (+15.2%) and food (+25.0%)

In strong increase it has turned out also the traffic of cabotage with a volume total of 4,6 million tons and a rise of +17.6% regarding about 3,9 million tons in 2015.

The Agence Nationale of the Ports manages all the Moroccan commercial ports with the exception of the port of call of Tanger Med that is governed by the Tanger Med Port Authority (TMPA) and that last year it has enlivened a traffic of 44,6 million tons of goods, with a progression of +8.7% on the year precedence ( on 16 January 2017). Last year in the single ports managed from the ANP the traffic is piled to altogether 77,5 million tons (+8.3%), of which 48,3 million tons of imports (+11.3%), 25,5 million tons of exports (+3.2%) and 3,7 million tons of traffic coasting vessel (+6.4%). With the exclusion of the decrease of the -27,7% of the traffic in the port of Mohammedia because of the closing of the activity of refining of the oil, in all the other ports are recorded increments of the enlivened volumes.

In particular, with a traffic of 27,7 million tons (30.7% of the total of the import-export national), the port of Casablanca remains the first port from which the imports and the exports of Morocco journey. In this field increase (+15.0%) recorded from the port of Jorf Lasfar has been important also, thanks to the development of the industries situated in the region, that it has totaled 26,1 million tons, volume pairs to 28.9% of national the harbour traffic with the exception of that of transhipment.

In the single segment of the container, last year the ports managed from the ANP have enlivened a traffic pairs to 1.154.980 teu (+12.9%), with important increases marked from the volumes enlivened in particular from the port of Casablanca, that it has totaled 950 thousand teu (+11.4%), and from the port of Agadir, than for the first time has enlivened beyond 200 thousand teu (+18.6%).

Between the other sections merceologici, in the 2016 phosphate traffic and derived enlivened from all the Moroccan ports (included Tanger Med), with 25,2 million tons, it has marked an increase of +10.1%, the hydrocarbon traffic, with 16,2 million tons, it is increased of +6.2%, and in strong increase it has turned out also the traffic of cereals with 8,8 million tons (+54.3%).

In the field of the rotabili, last year the traffic of Tir has been pairs to 272.854 vehicles (+11.1%), of which 263,233 in the port of Tanger Med (+11.0%) and 9,621 in the ports managed from the ANP (+14.6%), of which 6,768 to Nador (+9.1%), 2,395 to Casablanca (+41.8%) and 458 in the port of Tangeri (- 8.4%).

Moreover the Moroccan ports have enlivened a traffic of new motors vehicle of factory pairs to 508.815 means (+24.7%), of which 389,821 enlivened to Tanger Med (+31.3%) and 118,884 to Casablanca (+7.1%).

Last year the traffic of the passengers has been of 4,9 million people regarding 4,5 million in 2015. The single crocieristi have been 337,971, down of the -22,8% regarding 437.683 crocieristi in 2015. In particular, the passengers of line to Tanger Med have been 2.720.748 (+13.4%), to Tangeri 1.469.116 (+5.0%), Nador 465,375 (+9.7%) and Al Hoceima 40,783 (- 4.0%), while the crocieristi have been 199,702 to Casablanca (- 25.9%) and 71,396 in the port of Agadir (- 6.7%).
