The shipowning group Helvetic Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has detailed the entity of the new soprannoli previewed for the adaptation of the cost of the fuel that will be introduced by next 1° January in sight of the effectiveness on January 1°, 2020 of the new international norms adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on the limit of the sulfur tenor in the fuel for marine use(on 28 October 2016).

The company, emphasizing that the transfer of these costs is vital in order to guarantee a sustainable future to the field of the containerized marine transport, has specified to have considered essential to separate in transparent way the burdens legacies to the costs of the fuel so that these costs can be transferred in visible way along all the chain of the transports.

Moreover MSC has specified that the costs that the company is supporting in order to return own fleet and the supplies of fuel to the new international norms consistent on the fuel will pile to beyond two billions of dollars, analogous figure to that estimated from the Danish Maersk Line who is world leader of the field in front of the MSC(on 17 September 2018).

The soprannolo decided from MSC, that price of the fuel for broken detailed lists will be calculated on the base of the different marine, Bunker Recovery Charge (BRC is called) and will replace the current soprannoli Bunker Contribution (BUC), Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAD) and Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) and other burdens legacies to the cost of the fuel. MSC has specified that with the introduction of the BRC they will remain instead in vigor the relative soprannoli to the Zones of Control of Emissions (ECA).
