The Authority of Harbour System of the Ligurian Sea Oriental has announced that almost operation is completed an important first that it has afforded to re-use a huge amount of lapideo material deriving from the workings in quarry to Carrara that is used for harbour fillings with transport via ship in departure from the MdC terminal of Dario Perioli in the port naval of Carrara. Material comes transported via truck from basins marmiferi to port of call harbour where destination comes loaded on ships with Vado Ligure, where the container is in phase of advanced construction terminal that will be managed by the APM Terminals, to the realization of which, in this conclusive phase, has contributed also the material produced from Saint Colombano, operating Carrarese company in the field of the constructions and the lapideo. Once completed the project will afford the reuse of 800 thousand tons of materials of turns out of the excavation.

Introducing today the operation, the AdSP has evidenced that it can constitute the start of a vituous process, useful is to the aim of digestion of the material of turns out of the hollow ones, is to the aims of the reuse of the same material, that it has optimal geomeccaniche characteristics, for harbour and found fillings. "The objective of the AdSP - it has specified Carla Roncallo, president of the harbour authority - is that to increase the harbour traffics and undoubtedly this is a new interesting traffic in terms of enlivened tons. This first operation has been but also useful in order to experience a system that has been revealed perfectly working, than has not involved reflected negatives in environmental terms and that it will be able certainly to be repeated in future, being the many harbour fillings that we will have to realize sure to Spezia and in program also in other ports".
