In the 2019 ports of the Southern Adriatic they have enlivened 15,45 million tons of goods (+2.1%)



In the 2019 system of ports administered from the Authority of Harbour System of Mare Adriatico Meridionale, that it is composed of the ports of call of Bari, Brindisi, Manfredonia, Barletta and Monopolies, it has enlivened 15,45 million tons of goods, with an increment of +2.1% on the year precedence, of which 11,36 million tons of cargos to disembarkation (+3.2%) and 4,09 million tons to boarding (- 1.0%). The total increment of the enlivened volumes is mainly generated by the rise of +5.0% of the bulk sand banks is attested to 5,97 million tons. In light increase also the goods several with 6,54 million tons (+0.8%) and analogous value percentage, but of sign negative, is marked by the liquid bulk with 2,94 million tons (- 0.9%). The traffic of the passengers of the ferries in the ports of the system has been of 1,71 million unit (- 0.1%) and that of the crocieristi of 763 thousand unit (+12.5%).

Last year the single port of Bari has enlivened a total record of 6,10 million tons of goods, with a progression of +11.1% on 2018, of which 4,11 million tons to disembarkation (+17.9%) and 1,99 million tons to boarding (- 0.6%). Altogether the goods several is piled to 4,13 million tons (+2.5%), of which 3,42 million tons of rotabili (+3.8%), 666 thousand tons of containerized cargos (- 4.3%) with a handling of containers pairs to 83 thousand teu (+21.0%) and 48 thousand several tons of other goods (+9.0%). The solid bulk has totaled 1,96 million tons (+35.0%), included mainly 1,83 million tons of cereals (+40.1%), 75 thousand tons of chemicals (- 34.0%), 33 thousand tons of minerals, concretes and soccers (+4,766, 3%) and 20 thousand tons of producing metalworkers (+1.7%). In the field of the passengers the traffic of the ferries has been of 1,19 million people (+1.0%) and that of the crocieristi of 675 thousand people (+17.8%), of which 255 thousand to the disembarkation/boarding (+20.9%) and 420 thousand in transit (+15.9%). The cars transported from the ferries have been 243 thousand (- 1.2%) and vehicles ro-ro 166 thousand (+5.0%).

In the 2019 traffic enlivened from the port of Brindisi it has been of 7,46 million tons (- 6.1%), of which 5,71 million tons to the disembarkation (- 7.0%) and 1,75 million tons to boarding (- 3.3%). Totally the goods several tons (- 0.7%), of which 2,25 million tons of cargos ro-ro (- 4.2%) and 120 thousand have been 2,37 million conventional tons of goods (+209.8%). The solid bulk is diminished of -9,5% to the 2,93 million one tons, of which 1,80 million tons of coals and lignites (- 30.9%), oleaginous 521 thousand tons of minerals, concretes and soccers (+758.0%), 191 thousand tons of alimentary commodities, feeds and (+0.3%), 152 thousand tons of producing metalworkers (+3.6%), 84 thousand tons of cereals (- 15.9%), 28 thousand tons of chemicals (to +66.8%) and 151 thousand tons of other bulk sand banks (+31.6%). The liquid bulk is piled to 2,17 million tons (- 7.1%, with the oil produced ones refined that they are dropped of -13,0% to the 1,19 million one tons, the gaseous oil produced ones, liquifying or compressing and natural gases increasing of +5.8% to 742 thousand tons and the other liquid bulk diminished of the -9,1% to 229 thousand tons. Last year the passengers of the ferries have been 520 thousand (- 2.3%) and those of the cruises 86 thousand (- 17.3%). The cars to the continuation of the passengers have been 94 thousand (+1.6%) and the transported means ro-ro from ferries 116 thousand (- 5.0%).

Last year the traffic of the goods in the port of Barletta has been of 805 thousand tons (- 8.2%), in that of Manfredonia it has been of 569 thousand tons (+29.3%) and in that of Monopolies of 518 thousand tons (+34.3%).

In the solo fourth trimester of the 2019 system of the ports of the Southern Adriatic has enlivened 4,11 million tons of goods, with an increase of +12.6% on the period October-December of the year precedence, of which 3,11 million tons of cargos to disembarkation (+17.1%) and 999 thousand to boarding (+0.7%). The single port of Bari has enlivened 1,53 million tons of goods (+13.3%), between which mainly 844 thousand tons of rotabili (+6.2%), 535 thousand tons of solid bulk (+43.9%) and 146 thousand containerized tons of goods (- 9.2%). To Brindisi the traffic total has been of 2,03 million tons (+9.4%), included 918 thousand tons of solid bulk (+39.5%), 550 thousand tons of rotabili (- 7.4%) and 521 thousand tons of liquid bulk (- 9.6%).

Commenting the data of the enlivened volumes of traffic in the 2019 from the ports of the system, president of the Authority of Harbour System of Mare Adriatico Meridionale, Ugo Patroni Griffi, has explained that "in the port of Barletta the decrease of the traffics is connected to the limitation of the infrastructure, and therefore the dredgings, the discouragement of the silos and the connected requalification of the dock, the extraordinary maintenance of the operating docks, the displacement of the fuel warehouses and the new station for the cruises, all works under cantierizzazione, will afford to recover, shortly, conspicuous volumes of traffic. For Brindisi, that it suffers a crisis connected to the change from the productive cycle of Enel headquarters - has added Patrons Griffi - is instead necessary to favour, through a determined infrastrutturizzazione, the evolution of the port of call, in compliance with the own historical vocation, in a polifunzionale perspective: tourist, industrial and commercial gateway. The programmed works, whose times of realization, thanks to the shared programming with all stakeholders the private publics and, let alone to the declared attention of the government, would have to endure a strong acceleration, will allow us to return the strategic, competitive port of call and to the vanguard in the domestic markets and international. Between the strategic works for Brindisi - it has specified the president of the AdSP - they remember escavi and the structure for the control of sediments; the purchase of the private marine station and the contiguous large squares, to requalify itself; the infrastructure realization to read to support of the extra traffic Schengen, project review - to the aim of being able to efficiently manage also the traffic with Albania - and the indiction of the relative contract for the realization of the passenger terminal the Sails; the realization of a wharf to briccole and the restructure side sea of the former marine station.
