Last month, freight traffic in Chinese ports resumed a positive trend

Last month the largest volume of traffic is enlivened by the port of Ningbo-Zhoushan with 111.6 million tons (+18.1%) followed by the ports of Tangshan with 65.9 million of tons (+11.4%), Shanghai with 59.8 million tons (+9.6%), Qingdao with 58.1 million tons (+5.9%), Guangzhou with 54.1 million tons (+5.6%) and Tianjin with 49.9 million tons tons (+8.4%).

As for international traffic alone, the largest share is always passed through the port of Ningbo-Zhoushan which has enlivened 49,5 million tons (+15.2%) followed by the ports of Qingdao with 41.5 million tons (+3.3%), Shanghai with 35.5 million tons (+9.3%), Rizhao with 28.9 million tons (+5.1%), Tianjin with 27.9 million tons (+13.5%), Tangshan with 22.7 million tons (+13.6%) and Shenzhen with 18.0 million of tons (+1.1%).

With regard to container traffic alone, last month the Chinese ports have handled a volume of 26.4 million teu (+11.2%), of which 23,2 million teu enlivened by ports maritime (+10.8%) and 3.1 million teu from the inland ports (+14.3%). The largest volume of containerized traffic has passed through the port of Shanghai which handled 4.3 million teu (+16.2%) followed by the ports of Ningbo-Zhoushan with 3.3 million teu (+25.7%), Shenzhen with 2.6 million teu (+10.1%), Qingdao with 2.2 million teu (+7.7%), Guangzhou with 2.2 million teu (+5.9%) and Tianjin with 2.0 million teu (+8.1%).

In the first seven months of 2022, Chinese ports have enlivened globally 8.92 billion tons of cargo, with a slight progression of +0.1% on the same period last year, of of which 5.83 billion tons handled by seaports (+0.8%) and 3.09 billion tons of goods from the inland ports (-1,2%). International traffic alone stood at 2.66 billion tons (-2.9%), of which 2.39 billion tons passed through seaports (-2.1%) and 272.6 millions through inland ports (-9.4%).

In the period January-July of this year the only traffic containerized has been pairs to 168,7 million teu (+4.2%), of which 148,9 million teu enlivened by seaports (+4.1%) and 19.8 million teu from inland ports (+4.7%). Most significant volume of container traffic was enlivened by the port of Shanghai with 26,8 million teu (+0.8%) followed by the ports of Ningbo-Zhoushan with 20.8 million teu (+11.1%), Shenzhen with 17.0 million teu (+5.4%), Qingdao with 14.7 million teu (+7.1%), Guangzhou with 13.9 million teu (+0.7%), Tianjin with 12.5 million teu (+3.0%) and Xiamen with 7.0 million teu teu (+0.4%).
