In the third quarter of this year, in line with the trend in the value of the world's transport services of finished products, the financial performance of the Kuehne + Nagel logistics group came back to an earlier growth trend of the relevant rise in the results coinciding with the global health crisis of the Covid-19 and the subsequent accentuated flexion followed at the conclusion of the pandemic emergency and the heightened geopolitical tensions that began with the Russia-Ukraine war. In the July-September period of this year, the gross turnover of the Swiss logistics group amounted to 6.1 billion Swiss francs (6.4 billion), with a decrease of -43.9% percent in the third quarter of 2022, while net turnover was status of 5.4 billion francs (-45.5%). The gross operating margin stood at 640 million francs (-42.3%), operating profit at 446 million (-51.7%) and net profit to 321 million francs (-53.3%).

Negative the trend in all the main activity segments of the group. In that of maritime shipments, in which the volumes of goods handled remained stable as results equal to more than 1.1 million container teu, Kuehne + Nagel totaled a net turnover of more than 1.9 billion francs (-60.9%), a EBITDA of 243 million (-52.4%) and an EBIT of 236 million francs (-53.1%). In the field of air shipments, in which, with 493mila tonnes of cargo handling, a -9.2% decline in volumes was recorded, net turnover was 1.5 billion francs (-45.9%), the gross operating margin of 153 million (-55.4%) and operating profit of 136 million (-57.9%). In the field of land shipments, net turnover was 834 million francs (-15.2%), EBITDA of 41 million (-25.5%) and EBIT of 26 million (-35.0%).

In the first nine months of 2023, the group's gross turnover amounted to 20.3 billion Swiss francs, with a reduction of -39.0% percent over the same period last year, and net turnover of 18.2 billion (-40.7%). The company posted a gross operating margin of 2.2 billion (-41.5%), an operating profit of 1.6 billion (-49.3%) and a net profit of CHF 1.2 billion (-49.0%).
