
In the third quarter of last year, freight traffic
in Greek ports recorded a slight decrease of -0.7% on the previous year.

boarding (-5.3%).
Rolling stock traffic alone recorded an increase of +6.1%
with 5.07 million vehicles handled, of which 4.77 million on the
domestic routes (+6.8%) and 293 thousand on international routes (-4.1%).
In the passenger sector, quarterly traffic was
18.82 million people (+5.6%), of which 17.83 million
transported by national maritime services (+5.9%) and 985 thousand by
international ones (+1.2%), with 475 thousand at disembarkation (-1.8%) and
510 thousand at boarding (+4.1%).
In the first nine months of 2024, Greece's ports
handled a total of 107.62 million tons of goods,
with an increase of +0.2% over the same period of the year
previous, of which 22.98 million tonnes of domestic traffic
(+4.9%) and 84.64 million tonnes of international traffic
(-1.0%), including 49.70 million tonnes of international cargo
on landing (-0.3%) and 34.94 million tons on loading
(-1,9%). Rolling stock totalled 10.35 million vehicles
(+7.7%), with 9.72 million vehicles on domestic routes (+8.5%) and
631 thousand on international ones (-3.6%). In the segment of
passenger traffic was 34.51 million people
(+8.4%), of which 32.93 million embarked on ships used in
national level (+8.8%) and 1.57 million of those who travel
international lines (-0.2%).
