By April to Livorno the levelling of the backdrops of the basin of evolution of the port will be completed



In the course of the today's reunion of the Harbour Committee of Livorno the president of the harbour agency, Giuliano Gallanti, has announced that by April the levelling of the backdrops of the basin of evolution of the port in order to allow the maneuver with ships of length pairs to 336 meters and of the width of 42 meters will be completed. "In these days - Gallanti has said - I have collected by some shipowners the requirements to concentrate on the ports of the peninsula units greater than those which until little time makes they crowded Mare Nostrum. To April we will already have to be ready to receive them. It is clearly that without adequate backdrops the port of Livorno does not go from no part".

In topic of dredgings the Harbour Committee has approved of the cancellation of the deliberation n. 33 on October 25, 2011 that it previewed the confidence directed to Centro Interuniversitario di Biologia Marina and Ecologia applied to the sea, "Guido Bacci", of the necessary boreholes to the planning of the work of dredging of the harbour areas. "Be a matter of work and of services publics - Gallanti has explained - we will not have to proceed to the indiction of formal contests for the start of the geophysical and environmental investigations in the harbour areas of reference. But the work of dredging of the Tuscany Dock and the basin of evolution will not endure large delays". The president of the Harbour Authority in fact has specified that already in the next few days a contest procedure will be started, a selection without advance publication of ban, between 10 interested subjects, for the effettuazione of the work of characterization of the grounds of the area to dredge. Gallanti has explained that two months will want in order to analyze the offers to us and to proceed to the award, and ulterior three months for the completion of the work; after that the procedures of contest for the real dredgings leave.

In the course of the reunion the protocol is discussed of understanding undersigned on 1° December to Florence between Tuscany Region, RFI and Harbour Authority with the objective to realize a connection directed between the Tuscany Dock and the railway net ( on 1° December 2011). The leader of the technical and ambient department of Port Authority, Umberto Campana, has supplied the details of the project, that side previews the realization in Tuscany Dock (south) of a bundle of five railroads of maneuver, of the length of about 600 meters, in order to allow the container refuel/defuel on railway wagons; the construction in Tuscany Dock (side north), in prosecuzione of the bundle of five railroads, others three which electrified railroads of the length of 750 meters, cetralized and operated by remote control from the Livorno-Calambrone Station, suitable for the arrival and the direct departure of the trains; the realization of a railroad of line, which electrified, along 4.500 meters, from the Tuscany Dock until the new connection of directed connection with the tirrenica railway line, towards Pisa. "The direct potenziamento of railway infrastructures - Gallanti has explained - will allow to eliminate the times of maneuver from the Terminal Tuscany Dock to Livorno-Calambrone, and to directly compose in Tuscany Dock the Terni block that will be conveyed towards the tirrenica and successively instradati on the line to high Florence-Bologna ability. In this way they will come remarkablly reduced the shipping charges".

Moreover during the sitting of the Committee two concessions are approved of: the first, an area of 37 thousand square metres inside of the Morosini Dock, is released in favor of the society Benetti Azimut; the second one goes in favor of the Sant'Anna High school of University Studies and Improvement of Pisa that upstairs has as object a premises of 134 square metres of the former warehouse Tobaccos, on the Pisa Descent, that it will be used for two years as laboratory of search and analysis. At last concessions to the two nautical circles are released Turret and Arcs fish Blue Barracuda.
