Al port Marsaxlokk container operated from Malta Freeport Terminals, joint venture 50:50 constituted by the French shipowning group CMA CGM and by the Turkish group Yildirim, continues the intense activities for the extension of the western dock of the first terminal for containers of the Maltese port of call, that it will be been extended by current the 168 meters to 290 meters. The yard is visited last week by the Maltese Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.
Currently the dock is used for parking moorings, while - to intense activities concluded - it will return possible moorings operating: it will come in fact equipped of a ramp for rotabili, will be equipped with two crane of dock post-Panamax and the backdrop will be deepened by current the -9 meters to -13 meters. Moreover Malta Freeport has in program the acquisition of other four cranes ship-to-Shore post-Panamax.
