Last year the port of Rotterdam established its own new containerized traffic record



In 2021 the port of Rotterdam handled a total of 468.7 million tonnes of cargo, volume representing an increase of 7.3% percent on the previous year but is lower than the historical record of 469.4 million tonnes marked in the year. 2019 is at 469.0 million tons eventful in 2018. Last year the only goods at the landing amounted to 325.2 million tonnes (+ 9.8%) and those at embarkation to 143.5 million tonnes (+ 2.0%).

If in 2021 the Dutch port did not mark the new maximum peak of the global volume of cargo handling, it nevertheless recorded the new historical record of containerized traffic that was 154.5 million tons (+ 2.3%) and was made with an handling of containers equal to 15.3 million teu (+ 6.6%). In the segment of the other miscellaneous goods, the total was 30.9 million tonnes (+ 3.2%), of which 24.0 million tonnes of rotatable (+ 0.2%) and 6.9 million tonnes of other cargo (+ 15.2%). In the field of solid bulk bulk, 78.7 million tonnes (+ 23.4%) were handled, of which 30.3 million tonnes of iron ore and scrap (+ 33.6%), 24.6 million tonnes of coal (+ 41.7%), 8.6 million tonnes of bulk coal agricultural (-16.5%) and 15.3 million tonnes of other dry bulk (+ 13.05). In addition, the liquid bulk bulk with a total of 204.6 million tonnes (+ 6.6%), including 98.2 million tonnes of crude oil (+ 4.9%), 66.1 million tonnes of refined petroleum products (+ 10.0%), 7.0 million tonnes of crude oil liquefied natural gas (+ 12.4%) and 33.3 million tonnes of other liquid loads (+ 3.8%).

In the only fourth quarter of 2021, the Dutch port handled a total of 118.6 million tonnes of cargo, with a 3.6% percent progression on the corresponding period of 2020, of which 83.0 million tonnes of cargo at landing (+ 9.0%) and 35.6 million tons of cargo at embarkation (-7.2%). In the container compartment total traffic was 76.5 million tonnes (+ 0.2%) with an handling of containers of 7.7 million teu (+ 4.6%). In decline the other miscellaneous goods with almost 15.9 million tonnes (-2.5%), of which 12.2 million tonnes of rotatable (-6.9%) and 3.6 million tonnes of other goods (+ 15.6%), were found. Accentuated the increment of solid bulk certificates to 20.5 million tonnes (+ 12.2%), with 7.4 million tonnes of iron ore and scrap (+ 12.9%), 7.2 million tonnes of coal (+ 27.8%), 1.6 million tonnes of bulk agricultural (-29.2%) and 4.3 million tonnes of other solid bulk (+ 12.9%). Liquid bulk rinses totaled 52.5 million tonnes (+ 7.1%), of which 24.0 million tonnes of crude oil (+ 7.0%), 17.7 million tonnes of refined petroleum products (+ 1.5%), 2.0 million tonnes of natural gas liquefied (+ 72.9%) and 8.8 million tonnes of other liquid bulk bulk (+ 9.8%).
