
Last month, cargo traffic in Spanish ports increased
48.8 million tons, an increase of +2.4%
on April 2025 generated by volume growth in all
product sectors with the exception of dry bulk
which, with a total of 6.5 million tonnes, recorded a
decrease of -1.6%. Liquid bulk traffic has
16.3 million tonnes (+3.4%), that of goods
conventional traffic to 8.0 million tonnes (+6.7%) and the traffic of
containers to 16.8 million tons (+1.7%), the latter

(+5.6%), of which 858,642 TEUs in transit (+5.3%), 613,551 TEUs in transit
import-export (+6.2%) and 176,675 TEUs of national traffic (+5.2%).
In April 2026, passenger traffic in ports
has suffered a marked decrease, with two million
passengers on regular services (-9.3%) and 1.2 million cruise passengers
(-18,4%).
In the first four months of this year, ports have handled
over 181 million tons of goods, with a decrease of
-0.3% over the same period in 2025. The number of
liquid bulk with 60.8 million tons (+2.9%) and cargo
conventional with 29.1 million tons (+0.1%). Bulk
amounted to 25.0 million tonnes (-6.8%) and the
containerized goods to 62.0 million tons (-0.8%) with a
Container handling of over 6.1 million TEUs
(+4.2%), of which 3.2 million TEUs in transit (+6.1%), 2.2 million
of TEUs in import-export (+6.2%) and 700 thousand TEUs in Italy
(+5,2%). In the passenger sector, cruise passengers have been almost
four million (+2.7%) and ferry passengers 6.5 million
(+0,3%).
