
After three quarters of decline, in the April-June period of
this year the traffic of goods in the port of Taranto has
recorded a growth of +6.7% over the same period of 2025
driven by the petroleum products of the Eni refinery, having
totalling 3.58 million tonnes. Growing
liquid bulk was found with 1.72 million tons
(+54.8%) and containerized goods with 134 thousand tons
(+179,2%). Dry bulk cargo decreased with 1.12 million
tons (-29.1%) and other miscellaneous goods with 599 thousand tons
(-2,1%).
In the first six months of 2026, the Apulian port of call
6.23 million tonnes handled, with a decrease of -11.1% on the
first half of last year. Liquid bulk is
amounted to 2.83 million tonnes (+42.6%) and dry waste to
2.18 million tonnes (-40.0%). Containerized loads are
states equal to 230 thousand tons (+336.4%) and other miscellaneous goods to
990 thousand tons (-25.9%).
The growth trend continued last month when
a total of 1.20 million tons were handled,
with an increase of +104.9% over July 2025 determined by increases in
volumes across all sectors, with liquid bulk cargo
totalled 535 thousand tonnes (+33.6%), solid waste 362 thousand tonnes
tons (+551.5%), goods in containers 12 thousand tons
(+547.2%) and other miscellaneous goods 289 thousand tons (+128.3%).
