
In the first nine months of 2026, the ships of the Grandi Navi Veloci
(GNV) transported a total of around 2.2 million
passenger and 1.84 million linear metres recording
respectively a growth of +2% and +5% over the same period
of 2025. This was announced by the shipping company of the
MSC Group on the occasion of the VII edition of the GNV Awards, the event
organized by the ferry company to celebrate and
strengthen its ties with business partners, confirm
its commitment to the trade sector and reward the best
partner travel agencies, which was held in the
week in Marrakech.
GNV specified that, in terms of passenger volumes, the
North Africa confirmed a positive trend. In particular,
Algeria continued to consolidate its results
in the last year of activity, while Morocco and Tunisia have
performance substantially in line with that of the
2025. Passenger and freight performance on the
connections with the Italian islands: Sicily recorded a
growth of +8%, while Sardinia grew by +6%. Yes

Today, meanwhile, the company has formalized a partnership
strategic three-year agreement (2027-2029) with the Office National Marocain du
Tourisme (ONMT), supporting GNV's growth in the market
Moroccan connection. The agreement aims to strengthen maritime and
passenger flows between Morocco and Europe, promoting
at the same time the country as a tourist destination and strategic hub
mobility in the Mediterranean. Initiatives are planned
joint territorial promotion campaigns, communication campaigns
integrated on the GNV and ONMT channels in the main European markets and
travel proposals that combine the sea crossing with the offer
tourist destination, aimed at both European travellers and the
diaspora residing in Europe. The collaboration also includes the
support for GNV's institutional initiatives and events in the area,
as part of a path shared with tourism actors
national partnership to enhance Morocco's role as a gateway
between Europe and Africa.
On the occasion of the GNV Awards, GNV also unveiled the names of the
Next ships to join the fleet: GNV
Jupiter, GNV Mars, GNV Venus and GNV Mercury,
four new units powered by liquefied natural gas.
