The trade group, financial, real estate and industrial Chilean Betha acquire at least 10% of the shares of fellow Navieras Empresas SA (Urenda Group), which owns more than 52% of the shipping company Compañía Chilena de Navegación interoceanic (CCNI) and for 69.8% of the maritime group, port and logistics Agunsa.
Beth has signed a special agreement with the principal shareholders of Empresas Navieras (Tongoy Inversiones SA, Sociedad de Inversiones SA Paine, Euro Inversiones SA, Sociedad Nacional de Valores SA and Inversiones Del Bene SA) which provides for a capital increase of $ 55 million (25 U.S. dollars per share). Betha will acquire 10% of the capital or if a greater share of minority shareholders do not exercise the right of first refusal.
The shareholders' meeting scheduled for July 26 in a special meeting, will have to vote not only for raising capital, but also to increase from seven to nine the number of directors of directors of Empresas Navieras and the name change Group company in Navieras Empresas SA (GEN).
The group operates Betha in the transport sector through investments in LAN and Aeroandina airlines, trucking companies in Sotraser and Blue Express courier.
