There is increasing participation in Internet forums created within the European project Hinterport, coordinated by Bologna Freight, which started about a year ago with the goal to become an interactive community for the integration of ports and inland terminals. Currently more than 70 companies in the transport and logistics sector that have joined the forum.
Forum members are virtually in contact with potential partners and customers and have the opportunity to be updated on important industry events, to increase their knowledge and skills through interactive systems and training programs that illustrate successful solutions already adopted in a position to encourage integration between ports and inland terminals. They are also available, the area reserved for members only, all presentations and all documents relating to the events and achievements of the project Hinterport.
Hinterport The project is an initiative supported by European funding program Marco Polo and aims to improve cooperation and sharing of experiences in order to optimize the management of complex transport and logistics system. The consortium involved in the project consists of 17 European partners and includes research institutes (AFT-IFTIM, Iten), operators and Port Authorities (Antwerp, Valencia, Naples, Koper, Piraeus, Trieste, Tallinn), freight (Bologna, Nola, Azuqueca de Henares, Marseille, DGG - German Association of Freight Villages) and multimodal transport operators (Italcontainer, LG-Lithuanian Railways, Emons Spedition).
