Confitarma has illustrated to the undersecretary Toccafondi (MIUR) a proposal on the formation of the seafarers



Today to Rome in the Shipping center of the Italian Confederation (Confitarma) the Education Commission of the shipowning association, presided by Mario Mattioli, has met Gabriele Toccafondi, undersecretary to the Ministry of the Instruction, of the university and the search in order to introduce an participation proposal on the formation of the seafarers it turns to improve the quality of the Didactics supplied from the school and the nautical formative agencies. Leonardo Piliego, secretary of the Education Commission, has illustrated the proposal of the Confederation, that he is founded on three inspirational principles: a greater alternation between school and job through a more profitable involvement of the enterprises of navigation in the formative activities; the development of a formative distance that can lead the advanced officials to the attainment of a triennial bachelor; the development of the competences of the marine staff through programs of continuous formation.

Mattioli has explained the reason of the today's encounter with the Toccafondi undersecretary: "in order to return the proposal of Confitarma concrete - it has asserted - it is necessary to share it with the competent ministries, that is the Ministry of Infrastructures and the transports and the Ministry of the Instruction, the university and the search, also in sight of the public convention that will hold in the first months of 2016".

Observing that "the world of the Italian enterprises assumes", the undersecretary has found that there is therefore "need of adapted professional figures and the world of the school, the ITS and the University is ready to work for giving future to the young people". "It is estimated - it has specified Toccafondi - than in the next year the marine field needs beyond 1.000 figures in order covering highly qualified places of work on the bridges and engine room for the ships of greater dimensions, a necessity that the world of the school sees as an opportunity for the young people. The alternation school-job, the apprenticeship, the ITS and the collaboration with the University goes in this direction.
