Started a project in order to realize a digital version of the port of Ravenna
It will be used for simulations and planning and in order to test the efficiency of the harbour activities
July 3, 2019
The Authority of Harbour System of Mare Adriatico Centro Settentrionale has announced to have under way with anconetana CNT Technologies the project Open Digital Twin Port for the development of "digital binoculars" of the port of Ravenna, initiative that has the objective to create, on a rich data base, a digital retort of the port of call thanks to which to be able to simulate and to carefully plan many activities, those of dredging and maintenance comprised, and to be able to estimate the possible interferences guaranteeing that the activities carry out in way more coordinate bond, sure and fast. The project could moreover be used in order to simulate and to test the efficiency of the harbour activities, measuring, for example, the natural consequences that on these would have extreme meteorological conditions or disasters.
The Digital Twin of the port will prepare also harbour port of call for the future advent of the naval units to independent guide, the MASS (Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship), as it will allow with these means to find the navigation distance optimal, to berth and to maneuver inside of the port, without being forced every time to explore with the sensors the surrounding atmosphere.
The first phase of the project Open Digital Twin Port has as scope the realization within the next september of the creation of the "binoculars" of a first portion of the port of Ravenna in order then to be able itself to candidate, together with partner private and to other European ports (Rotterdam - it has specified the AdSP - is making something similar), to obtain the necessary financings to the virtual reproduction of the entire harbour infrastructure.
