Agreement between the Municipality of Livorno and NET - International Association for the Collaboration between Ports and City



Next 3 October the mayor of Livorno, Luca Salvetti, and Rinio Bruttomesso, NET president - International Association for the Collaboration between Ports and City with center to Venice, will sign an agreement of collaboration for the constitution and the development of "Nodo Avanzato of Livorno". The "Advance Nodes" are command posts, promoted from or more associates than NET, in which activities of formative character, study are developed, search and spreading, promoted as local initiative, under the coordination of an associate - in this case of the Municipality of Livorno and in particular to operating level by the city council member Barbara Bonciani with delegations to port, integration port city, cooperation and peace, innovation university and international relations - under the supervision and the protection of the international association.

Primary objective of livornese Nodo Avanzato will be that to favor the collaboration between the several actors private publics and, to local level, for a better integration of the city port in the city context and a shared development of the future of the city-port. The activities that will be developed in the advanced node will be finalized to guarantee a greater competitiveness of the system city-port, to strengthen the image of the harbour city of Livorno, to local level, national and international, as well as to improve the quality of life of the citizens, in terms of reduction of the city pollution deriving from the harbour activity.

Nodo Avanzato of Livorno, coordinated from the municipal administration, will be structured in four thematic tables: first he will regard the fleeting mobility, flows/crews and the city and territorial marketing; the second, the marine identity and the community; the third party the transports, the logistics and the occupation and the quarter, the atmosphere. The results of the tables will be introduced between a year in local, national and international within.

"With the signature of collaboration between Municipality of Livorno and Rete - Barbara Bonciani has explained - the mandate lines of the mayor and my councillorship are launch. Livorno will assume national the operating role central of the relations city port and will be the center of four operating tables that will have as objectives the collaboration between the parts to local level, for better an integration of the port in the city context and the creation of a model of collaboration that becomes example to local level, national and international. The tables - it has specified the alderman - will be four so subdivided: in the course of the first table they will be taken in consideration the best management of the tourist flows of the cruise ships and the yachts and the launch of the tourist offer of the cities oriented on this target. According to table, on the environmental sustainability, it will be finalized to improve the city pollution deriving from the emissions of the ships, also to light of it obligation for the shipowner to reduce the sulfur quotas of fuels to 0.5% from first January 2020. The third table will deal the valorization of the places and of the marine identity, one of these is the opening of the lighthouse to the city. At last the fourth table will face the topics of the economy, the transports and the occupation. The purposes of the last table are the ability to support infrastructural investments in existence in order to return the city-port of Livorno competitive".
